Surgical Instrument Management - Care & Maintenance Workshop 2017
This course is to strengthen the participants knowledge in managing and retaining the quality value of surgical instruments. This programme covers the instrument reprocessing concept and best practices. In combination with the hands-on workshop and experience sharing with our experts, the participants will find it easy to implement this knowledge in the OT and CSSD. Upon completion of the programme, participants will be able to understand the material properties of surgical instruments, adopt a systematic approach to identify common problems found in surgical instruments, follow standard guidelines on checking the quality of surgical instruments, learn new methodologies to improve the work processes in CSSD/OT/OR, as well as implement effective preventive maintenance procedure in CSSD/OT/OR.
The 12th Lectures and Hands-on Cadaver Dissection Course for Cerebrovascular Microneurosurgery
Professor Yang-Hsin Shih MD, Min-Hsiung Chen MD, PhD and Sanford PC. Hsu MD and Chun-Fu Lin MD founded this microneurosurgery lecture course in 2004 after joining a workshop at St. Louis conducted by Ali F. Krisht MD. Professor M. Gazi Yasargil’s microsurgery technique and concept was presented in Ali F. Krisht’s workshop and both doctors believed that was the area VGH Taipei seeking to develop and invest in. March 2005, Ali F. Krisht MD was invited to give a speech in Taiwan, and he proposed to transfer the St. Louise hands-on workshop to Taiwan to give professionals in the region more opportunity to access the latest techniques. The first event look place in November 2005 and received very positive feedbacks from local surgeons as well as participants from China, Thailand and Malaysia. Over the past 9 years, it became one of the most recommended and well acknowledged course by many neurosurgical professionals internationally. Today , there are also other professionals and KOL in this field joining us to share the latest case studies, and we believe this would lead us to a even broader spectrum of innovative thinking and knowledge sharing in Neurosurgery.

Asia Pacific Advanced Intracranial Neuroendoscopy Course 2017
This two day course will be conducted by pioneering surgeons headed by the course director, Charles Teo, MD from The Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, Australia, who will address the advanced intracranial neuroendoscopy, endoscopic anatomy and its clinical application. Models and cadavers will be used to simulate procedures in a hands-on laboratory setting. Course attendees will have the benefit of expert colleagues providing directions and answering question specific to there minimally invasive approaches.
Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) Course
The Definitive Surgical Trauma Care DSTC) Course is developed under the auspices of the International Association for Trauma and Surgical Intensive Care (IATSIC) to address the process of surgical decision-making and operative techniques involved in the management of life-threatening injuries in the trauma patient. The intensive three-day course is a mixture of lecture-based learning, case discussion and hands-on surgical skills training on animal models.
